It is unbelievably windy outside.
I nearly broke my left ankle early this morning; thankfully only a sprain. Arnica in cream and tablet form worked almost miracles, but I had to keep my foot propped up on pillows with an ice pack for most of the morning. Then, the boss called me back and told me that very bad paint fumes from downstairs floors in the building were making our floor impossible to be on. It was worse in my office. He was getting very sick. He had called to ask me where to find a document on my computer, and then he was going home. This is not the first time the library has gone unstaffed for a day, but I hate when it happens. Hopefully when we both return tomorrow, the air will be breathable. I also may be coming down with a cold -- which I can deal with more easily than a sprained ankle. And yes, I do have enough sick days/vacation days to use. The boss understands. He gets sick a lot and has to stay out of work for days at a time. I just don't like being out, is all.
I went to get the mail and the heavy winds were doing their best to knock me down or sweep me up. There have already been two very brief blackouts, but this is why I like living in a townhouse community; the power comes back on so quickly.
