At 9:30 this morning, after Adam left for work, I called the clinic and asked about Tuesday. They said she was doing so well that she was ready to home! I called Charlotte, and she asked Billy to come get me. When we arrived, I paid up front first, and the bill turned out to be slightly less than the total donations from LJ. You guys paid my cat's bill, thank you so much! I told the receptionist about this and she was just stunned and amazed. She said it restored her faith in humanity. Then, she went in back to get my kitten. A few minutes later, she came out and asked if I could go get her, since she was getting really antsy and nervous, lashing out at people, and they wanted to see if Mom might calm her down, since of course Mommy and Daddy are the only humans who can really touch her. When she slapped at me as I reached into the cage, I just gently grabbed her by the scruff, pulled her out, put my other hand under her, and put her in the carrier. Closing the flap was a battle, since she was clawing and biting and growling; one of the assistants had to use tongs to close the zipper. However, as soon as the carrier was on my lap in the car, she was calm and quiet. Billy drove me home.
She has two temporary medications, prednizone and terbutaline. I have to give her the terbutaline in the morning and afternoon, and the prednizone in the morning, for about a week or two. I just gave her the afternoon terbutaline. I hid it in some gooshyfood, hoping she'd eat everything. Of course, she ate around the pill. So, as she was finishing up and licking her chops, I picked up the tiny quarter of a pill still coated in the juice of the wet food, took her by the scruff, and stuffed it into her mouth, closing her mouth so she'd swallow. She yelled and protested and struggled, but in the end she did swallow it. I'll be getting up early every morning to cram the prednizone down her throat. Suggestions have been to coat the tablets in peanut butter, margarine, yogurt, or the juice of her wet food. More suggestions are useful.

Jonathon Earl Bowser and the philosophy of art
Something to read when I have a couple of hours to kill and some time to truly absorb the depth of artistic spiritual philosophy. I'm working on it now, while my cat sleeps contentedly on the other couch.
