I asked one of my coworkers, Jessica, if she knew anyone who took in and hemmed pants cheaply. She said her sister could do it and I could pay whatever I felt was best. So I brought eight pairs of pants to work and gave them to Jess to give to her sister. This was very nice of her to do.
The pants are all Old Navy size 4. They are only slightly big in the hips, but are much too long in the leg and way too big in the waist. This means that the waists are 26, hips are 36.5, and inseams are 30.
Who in the hell has those exact measurements?
I can't wear a size two anymore, not unless I lose ten pounds.
Let's see. Believe it or not, Tommy Hilfigers and Gaps of the world, my waistline is *gasp* smaller than my hips. By two inches! And I am really short! Which means guess what, your pants never fit me right. Do you really believe that every American woman stands at least five feet six, weighs a hundred pounds, is a size two, and has a straight up and down body with no curve to the waist and yet has enormous breasts that never need a bra and legs that are longer than trees?
I cannot buy a pair of pants without needing it either hemmed or taken in at the waist. Every time. Almost makes me want to gain a lot of weight just to conform to this fucking illusion of bizarre catwalk reality.
