This was a very interesting read. I'm sure many people will disagree vehemently, of course; that's cool. And others will wholeheartedly agree; that's fine too. Me, I'll just make my own personal conclusions. I feel that a lot of people are panicking too quickly and too soon. Yes, there are major problems, but I refuse to run around flailing and yelling that we're all going to die. I do my small part to help the environment, but I also trust that Mother Earth can take care of herself. No, seriously. She can. She's been doing it for billions of years. She doesn't always need our help with everything -- just the messes we make ourselves (you make a mess, you clean it up, or no supper tonight and no TV for a week).
She doesn't like what we kids are doing, so she's giving us warnings and trying to give us time outs, but we're stubborn little bastards. She's very strong and willfull, however, so eventually we'll listen. Even the worst "Nanny 911" brats settle down and pay attention when Mommy (and maybe a nanny) starts yelling.
However: I will not be part of any radical group, extremist group, or bunch of nuts who complain and whine loudly in public all the time. I like my personal connection with Momma Nature just fine, thanks. I think she listens better to those who speak to her softly and in private.

Yesterday, for dinner, Adam made one of the most scrumptious meals ever, so simple: Egg noodles mixed with broccoli, melted mozzarella cheese, and cream of mushroom soup. I could eat it forever.
I am addicted to olives.
And clementines.
And rooibos tea.
And pomegranate juice.
Honest Tea's Pomegranate Blue juice is phenomenal (it has blueberry juice).

And, naturally, I am still not completely well. Allergies are still here. Muscle tension, inflammation, aches, pains, soreness, migraines.
I took a survey written by a member of the cerebral_palsy community, on adults with cerebral palsy, asking if we have certain disorders and medical conditions to go along with CP and to what degree. Tt was amazing how many things I responded to. As it turns out, I am not at all alone with all the insane crap happening to me, simply branched out from CP.
For a long while, I didn't talk about all these problems, because some were embarrasing, some were puzzling, some were scary, some were strange. I thought, how could I be experiencing/developing all of this? Now, I know. The survey is being adjusted and edited and tweaked, but the questions I had to answer kept striking me, again and again, striking every nerve gently until I understood. This is happening to me for a reason. This is everything I experience, this happens to me. It's not just me. It's not just me. Oh thank gods, it's not just me.
The survey touched on all these things, which I answered affirmatively...
My spasticity and tension can be exacerbated by anything, especially lights, noise, cold air, precipitation, illness. The CP causes chronic aches and pain on sitting, standing, and walking, and numbness, tingling, shooting pain, dull aches. Arthritis in the knees, hips, shoulders. Muscle tightness and weakness. Bladder control problems. My inability to stand fully for more than thirty minutes without trembling. Inability to sit fully for more than an hour straight without moving. Tinnitus, muffled and nonsensical words, my own voice too loud or soft, background noise too overwhelming. Trouble swallowing. Raynaud's Syndrome, asthma, severe allergies, epilepsy, anxiety, panic disorder, mood disorders, ADD, dyscalculia, spatial orientation problems, vision problems, problems comprehending things, problems processing information, emotional and physical hypersensitivity.
I have all of that. All of it.
Many people have most of those problems alone, without underlying disorders like CP. But to me, it is just astounding how many disorders and conditions can be associated directly with cerebral palsy alone.
No one ever told me.
No one ever told me.

I once spent twenty minutes thinking very deeply about hummingbirds, because they're colorful and their wings move so fast. Really.
