After I moved to Maryland, I was still so shy, introverted, and anxious that riding a bus beyond going to work and back seemed strangely daunting. Now, I enjoy it immensely, naturally. Adam says that the bus system is not great; buses have routes that go all over the place before they get to your desired destination. I reminded him that this is what buses do, and why many people ride them at once.
Adam is at work right now, in the Washington Hilton in downtown DC, so I have the day for myself.
Across from the Lake Forest Transit Center is a shopping center with a Safeway grocery store, which I prefer over Giant. Safeway's deli also has sandwiches that can be made right there for you. I got myself a tuna sandwich on ciabatta bread, with avocado and cheddar cheese. Adam asked me to pick up soft tortilla shells and diced tomatoes so he could make taco meat tonight. I love Adam's taco meat: he uses plenty of cinnamon. The tortilla shells I bought have omega-3 fatty acids.

1999

Eight years ago, around this time, I was home for summer break from college. Spring had been eventful. I reluctantly dated a guy who turned out to be an asshole, made a new female friend who would change parts of my life, and met another guy who, through a series of events and coincidences, would be the man I would marry. In June of 1999, I decided to randomly send Adam an email, asking how he was. I missed talking to him. We had become good friends. I guess I started the snowball rolling. He emailed me back quickly, then we started IMing again, then having phone conversations, and everything kept going and going until October, when we realized we were in love.
Life is funny that way.

So, June of 1999 began the chain of events that changed my life forever in many ways.

Yeah.

Oh, and my knees hurt. Again. I didn't even do anything. Damn my body.

I am full of homemade taco meat and shredded monterey jack cheese.
