So, the Flexeril has made me a very happy Jo. I am in the least amount of pain that I've been in since the symptoms started a year ago. I'm not badly fatigued. I actually feel wonderful.
I understand that cyclobenzaprine is only an "as needed" drug and the body may build up a tolerance to it if it is taken too much. However, I kind of wish I could take this every night, or at least every other night.

The rheumatologist had approved all my supplements, and said that the cyclobenzaprine wouldn't interact with any of them. On that note, I've done some research.
I take CoQ10, DLPA, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Spirulina, and Passion Flower for pain and fatigue. And I have found that in combination, they give me a mildly similar feeling to the Flexeril, except they keep me awake rather than make me sleepy. If I take Passion Flower alone at night, I sleep better and feel more relaxed, but it's not as strong as the Flexeril. I've decided that even though I can't take Flexeril every day, I'll take that nutraceutical cocktail every day -- without fail, except on weekends -- and see if my body and brain will respond well. I want to have the reaction that cyclobenzaprine gives me on a daily basis, even if it would be reduced. And if I can get that through daily holistic medicines as well as an occasional prescription medicine, I would be a very very happy Jo.
In a few months' time, I might even be close to normal.
*crosses fingers*

I think the sense of profound relief is relaxing me just as much.
That or the HoMedics Mini handheld massager that Adam has been walking up and down my back. Seriously, it's fantastic. I should name mine.
