New cell phone

Adam and I have new cell phones, and we didn't have to pay for them. He gets his phone through his boss. His flip phone died, so his boss got him a Motorola i335. It's very cute. It feels like it's made of rubber. I keep wondering if it'll bounce if dropped.
After I had admired my husband's new phone, I realized that my 2-year contract with AT&T was up, and I need to renew it, and I also wanted a new phone, since my LG model had been discontinued. There is a brand new AT&T store that just opened next to the Gallery Place-Chinatown metro, which is across the street from my office. After work yesterday, I went in, and the lady who greeted me called over a new employee to help me. I told the guy that I had a very low budget, and all I wanted was a flip phone with a camera, nothing fancy. There were only two options like that: a $40 Samsung A437 and a free Nokia 6085. Wait, free? I kept staring at the little black Nokia 6085 floor model, and asking the guy what the catch was; could I really walk out of here without paying for a phone? He said that it was free with the renewal of a 2-year contract. Well, hey, that's what I was there for anyway. Perfect. It was taken care of. The guy took my old phone and transferred the SIM card, which he said I took very good care of, and then charged the Nokia for me. He gave me the phone to put in my purse, took the old phone to be recycled, handed me the bag with the box, and shook my hand. I went downstairs to the main floor, where the woman who had greeted me asked if I'd found what I wanted. I held up the Nokia and grinned. "It was free!" She gave me a high-five.
Since my personal ringtones and graphics hadn't transferred, I bought them: Three ringtones: Enya's "The River Sings," Sting's "Desert Rose," and Deep Forest's "Sweet Lullaby." Three themes: Rose, Rainbow, and Dolphins, all by Access Lane. I've got the Dolphins theme with the Enya ringtone right now. The charges on next month's bill will be worth the pretty stuff on a free cell phone.
