The impending doom of Hurricane Earl probably will not damage my area too badly. But it might, too. The current weather forecasts for Gaithersburg say that it will be clear and sunny and hot straight until next week. That can change.

Tonight, Adam will leave California. He will fly through the night and have a layover in Minnesota early Friday morning. He will then fly directly to New York City, where he will meet with friends so he can catch the first New Model Army show on Friday night and the second New Model Army show on Saturday night. He will then ride with friends back home to Maryland, and will be home some time on Sunday, probably early morning.

Note: The following paragraph has nothing to do with anything that I've written recently.
Have I ever talked about how uncomfortable I get when people argue in the comments of my LJ posts? This has nothing to do with anything recent. I just noticed major fights happening in someone else's post and wanted to put that out there for new readers. My suggestion is: If you have a problem with someone's comments in my entries, please email that person privately, unless you think I can mediate. Which I probably won't. Because fighting makes me twitch. Solution: Instead of fighting or using angry words, have a nice discussion in which you agree to disagree and be as pleasant as possible. Also, if you resort to argumentum ad hominem, I will threaten to kick you out of my journal.

My left shoulder hates me today, and refuses to relax or stop hurting. Time for pills and massage.

Welcome to September in Maryland, also known as August 2.0.
Also, it is ninety degrees and sort of blinding.

Luna just went insane and tore around the room before attacking the couch. She is now curled up on the couch next to me and is having a heated argument with her tail.

The shoulder pain got bad enough to need medication. It is now slightly better.

It's Hot.

Something that makes me very happy: A two hour block of Futurama on Comedy Central tonight. An old episode, last week's episode, today's new episode, and an old episode. Awesome. (It starts at 9:00 on the East Coast.)

Something that makes me very confused: This fibro flare that started today is making my toes hurt. All my toes. This is silly. Why do my toes hurt?

I seem to be having a ridiculous green olive craving. I'm not even keeping track of the handfuls I eat. Green olives and baby carrots. That's what I have been snacking on all day. Dinner will be a grilled cheese sandwich with goat cheese and mozzarella cheese. With green olives on the side.

I want to go to Giant tomorrow and buy a box of strawberry Toaster Strudels. I would like it better if Toaster Strudels didn't contain high fructose corn syrup, but I understand why they do. Sometimes I feel that food companies think kids have no taste buds and will only eat insanely sweetened foods. Ah, well. Toaster Strudels are tasty tasty junk foods.

Also, I just learned this: Apparently, Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" graphic novels will become a TV show. Produced by the guy who does the TV show "Supernatural." Gaiman may not be involved. I am... unsure. Excited, and confused, and unsure. The "Sandman" comics helped shape a lot of my current beliefs. They are special things, those comics.
I do watch "Supernatural" sometimes, and I am sure Eric Kripke will do okay with Dream and Death and everyone. I would like to know if the TV series will involve Daniel Hall, though. I feel very weird about this, because Neil Gaiman himself may not be working with the series. However, he may come on board as the series develops. I hope he does. This is his baby.
