It's Saturday. It's random.
Nov. 6th, 2010 06:42 pmThat was a lovely time I had.
Alison is down from Boston to continue cleaning out her grandmother's house in Silver Spring, and she came by to hang out (Grandma is in a nursing home now, and Alison's mother wants to rent the house out). My cats, especially Luna, love Alison like family. All my friends adore Luna, and Luna adores all my friends. It's awesome.
We went to Wonder Books, where Alison unloaded several large boxes worth of old books, got several new/used books out of the deal, and followed me through the Labyrinth Of Books for almost an hour. I myself actually left without buying a single book. We then ate lunch at the Vietnamese pho restaurant next door, and I drank beloved Thai iced coffee with condensed milk, and I am buzzing and it is awesome.
We went back to my house briefly, cuddled my cats, discussed skin care, and proclaimed how good it was to see each other (she and Bane lived with us for a month last year when they considered moving to Maryland). Alison drove back to Silver Spring, but we shall see each other again soon, before she goes back home to Boston on Wednesday. We planned a date for Monday, where we will dine on steak and cheese subs (officially known as the SS-2 on the menu) at the Woodside Deli in Silver Spring.
I am flaring. Of course I am. I didn't win this battle. I'll probably win the next one. But oh, my legs hate me right now.
Adam will leave again tomorrow for a job in New Jersey for a few days. We will have a delectable dinner tonight, and a lovely breakfast tomorrow. He will be home on Friday. Then, he will go to Chicago for another week. And after that, we go to Sag Harbor, NY, to see my parents for the week of Thanksgiving. Yes, I really don't get to see my husband much. But it's all good. He always comes home.
