In The Chamber Of Understanding
Sep. 7th, 2011 08:44 pmStuff I love about myself:
-I can recite the song "I Want My Hands Back" from the Futurama episode "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings" along with the episode's opera itself. Same thing with "In The Year 252525" from the episode "The Late Philip J. Fry."
-I've realized that the only books I read these days are urban fantasy, contemporary fantasy, contemporary science fiction, paranormal romance, and similar genres.
-I love writing about extraordinary people doing ordinary things, like psychics doing laundry with telekinesis.
-I have three vintage 1983 My Little Pony ponies (Glory, Windy, Skydancer) and they smell so much like childhood that I am prone to inhaling their plastic bodies at random moments.
-I really don't like mineral oil or petroleum in my skin care or lip care. I really love Matrixyl in my lip care.
-I haven't used toothpastes in years, since they started causing bad reactions in my mouth. I use herbal toothpowders containing various ingredients. My dental checkups have been pretty much perfect, so I keep using the powders. Example: http://www.evansgarden.com/Tooth-Gum-Powder.html
-I've collaborated with an Etsy seller to create products that contain all the skin care ingredients I could ever want (I get major discounts). http://www.etsy.com/listing/79694270/4-oz-everlasting-superfruit-rich-natural.
-Some of my favorite herbal, fruit, and flower extracts include: Sea Buckthorn oil, Tamanu oil, Helichrysum oil, Frankincense oil, Manuka oil, Neem oil, Squalane, Camellia oil, Dragon's Blood Resin, and superfruits like Acai, Goji, Pomegranate, Mangosteen, Noni, Maqui, Yumberry, Cupuacu, and Coffee Fruit.
-My favorite tea is red rooibos; I could drink it forever. Especially if it's combined with green tea and superfruits.
-My favorite gemstones are amber, kyanite, tourmaline, quartz, and fluorite.
-I've always looked much younger than my age. Depending on where I go and what I do, it's either awesome or ridiculous.
-Despite my anorexic scars and disordered anxiety about my body, it turns out I am slightly more hourglass-shaped than I thought. My measurements are now 36-25-37 on a good day. My waist to hip ratio is around .68 - which seems generally very good. But I really want to lose an inch from my hips and rear. Damn this lordosis making my backside stick out and seem bigger. I'm too short for this. Also, time to shop for new bras. I need to exercise more, but almost everyone does. Yes, I used numbers. I'm not scared of numbers anymore.
-I have finally fully accepted that I am quite disabled, and medically argh, and I'm getting worse. And I refuse to go along with the recent wave of overblown political correctness regarding physical disabilities. I think I can champion for myself. I don't really need non-disabled social justice heroes lobbying for soft words and phrases because I might be offended. I'm not offended. I call myself all sorts of, er, insults. I have a sense of humor, too. of course, I only speak for myself and nobody else. Everyone is different. No, really, they are.
-I grew up in a close family of artists, writers, and all around creative people. We are also very weird, and proud of it.
-I have three very affectionate cats, and right now they are all trying to get my attention.
