Plato: "Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber."
Ben Franklin: "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!"
What this has to do with canolies, I have no idea.
