He shouldn't be gone. He should still be here. He should be smiling and laughing and quoting poetry and pouring wine and making merry and just being Dirk.
This wasn't supposed to happen, was it?
I feel like a child. Why is he gone? Why won't he come back? When will it really finally hit me that he's gone?
I haven't seen him in a long time. I wish we had been closer.
