brightrosefoxI still have this cold, compounded by severe allergies, which of course makes things worse. I am dealing with it. There are people I love, people who are pissing me off, people to whom I am casually indifferent. That is the way of the world. My husband is coming home tonight. I got a call from my best friend, who lives in another state, just saying that she loves me. One of my other best friends is here with me and I am comfortable. I am thinking about getting breakfast at some point.
Lena's friend Theon gave me a wonderful compliment earlier. I met him yesterday when Lena brought him to the house while I was sleeping in my bed, and I went down to the living room in my pajamas, flushed, hair all mussed up and obviously looking sick. Earlier today, Theon told me, "I've seen and met lots of women who come downstairs sick and in their pajamas with their hair messed up, and you are the first woman that made me think, 'Wow, and she's married? Damn, I was too late!'" It made me feel very good.
I think I will keep fighting.
