....and they're normal. Ur, normal for a brain with CP, meaning that there's a significant reduction of white matter. But the doctoer could not find any structural abnormality that would point to a seizure disorder. He still recommends the Lamictal, and he says that it's entirely my choice to go on the medication--he just thinks that the meds will control the seizures no matter what's causing them. He pretty much forbade me to drive because of the risk of seizing while on the road (just as I'm working up the courage to take the learner's permit again), and he says that the meds would enable me to drive. But it's up to me. Doc said that a very large number of people who have recurring seizures have them for no physical or structural reason; they just happen. Strobe lights, lack of sleep, emotion, adrenaline are all factors. And all of those things have caused my episodes. So there's nothing wrong with me except the seizures themselves. The medication would help. It's just my decision to make. That's what he said.

Something to think about for my follow-up visit in a couple of weeks.
