Yay, my house!

This past weekend, we had our very first real "weekend party gathering" at the townhouse. Danny and Dirk arrived on Saturday, followed by Charlotte and Billy, and then Jay. We drank shots and mixed drinks and wine, and Dan tried to Reiki away my blinding headache (which I still have). I showed Masha how to charge power to and draw from her moonstone ring. I showed Danny and Dirk the photos of my parents' artwork -- and Dirk has decided to buy one of Dad's paintings! He will basically give me money every month, I will deposit it and send a check to Dad, and Dirk will pay installments for the painting until it is paid for, and then he will come up to Sag Harbor and get it. This is so exciting! I will have a photo soon -- it is one of Daddy's best works, and I am sad to see it go, but at the same time thrilled.

In other news... Danny will be living with us for a week and a half while he and Dirk wait to get their new apartment. Hey, this makes up for all the time I didn't see him anyway. I love Danny.

But how freaking awesome is it that one of my friends will be buying my father's artwork?

Speaking of art... Adam spent last night painting the walls leading up the staircase. We now have a little mural of water, sky, and a field following us as we walk up the stairs. And he's not done.

Yep. It's our house all right.

Love hurts? So does a wounded marriage.

Yes, this is incredibly obvious, and money really did not need to be spent researching something that humans have acknowledged for thousands of years, but it's still nice to be reminded.

On the opposite end, I have noticed that the more love and affection I feel, give and receive, the faster I heal from wounds and illness.
