The walk from the townhouse to the bus stop is just under five minutes, but I gave myself some extra time this morning. The community folks did a grand job clearing sidewalks and especially streets and parking lots (something that was a true pain in the ass with the Derwood neighborhood). But it was still icy, so as I went across the parking lot, I was doing a step-march kind of walk. I have an actual fear of slipping on ice. I don't believe it's a phobia, but I really, really do not like it almost to a weird level.
I made it to the bus stop with three minutes until the bus came. And when it is freezing cold, three minutes is a long time. But the bus was roasting, and it was fine.
Adam and I had been playfully arguing about the benefits of snow last night. He had been all for it -- it's pretty, it's soft, it's fun to play in... while my consistent response was "It's cold and wet and icy I hate it." Winter will never be a good time for me and my body. I was trying to have a conversation with Dan last night, and my left leg locked until all I could do was hobble. I was bringing stuff into the kitchen from the living room, and walking hurt. Stupid cold weather.

However, the photos of [livejournal.com profile] madwriter's kittens have cheered me. Danny, if you don't mind, I would like to show everyone teh cute. Yes, Nate really is one of the most beautiful cats I have ever seen. Her face is so precious.

Because I have been unable to get it out of my head, I would cheerfully like to put it everyone else's heads now.
