My father called and told me about the entire village of Sag Harbor turning out for Jordan's funeral. Dad and the other veterans stood and saluted and honored a young Marine who sacrificed himself to save dozens of lives in Iraq. Dad said that Jordan helped prevent a suicide bomber's vehicle from crashing into the building that his fellow soldiers were in. When the vehicle exploded, Jordan died instantly. His heroism was amazing. The funeral was incredible. In the rain and the cold, everybody cried endlessly for the first soldier from Sag Harbor to die in a war since WWII. Jordan was honorable and unforgettable. I told my parents that if they see his parents again, to send my condolences and deepest sympathy.
