You know, I was just congratulating myself on having gone a whole week without the fibro flaring up.
Thank you, menses.
My nerves are now screaming like a million screamapillers. Yes, I reference the Simpsons when I am in horrible pain. Yes, it sort of makes me feel better.

I have decided not to play any politics games, at all. If you want to hate something, fine. Just don't expect me to agree with you.
I will fucking not hate Fox News because some random stranger on an internet forum told me I should if I wanted to be an intelligent person. I am not calling President Bush a dumb chimp, I am not making fun of Barack Obama or John McCain, I am certainly not going to jump in on the "let's call all Libertarians idiots" game, and I will not use the terms "libtard" or "neo-con nutjob" in any conversation. Enough, already. You sound like playground bullies. I'm tired of it.
(Note: This is not aimed at anyone I know, this is just me venting.)
I read this and laughed. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/StrawmanPolitical

I had a very strong, full-blown simple partial seizure last night, riding on the heels of some intense spasticity from the cerebral palsy. Motor, sensory, automatic, psychic -- it lasted about two minutes, but it was still hell.

So.

I am in loads of pain, I have my period, I am highly irritable, and I've grown my fingernails longer than usual.

Dear World: Do not fuck with me today. Thank you.

A novelist explains what it's like to love a writer.
(Also, I highly recommend her books. They're like dreams spun in ink and paper.)
This is pretty much it. Dear friends: If you see anything of yourselves in anything I write, you'd tell me, yes? Because I might do it subconsciously, without intention, etc.

I decided to alter the format of the novel. I'm now working with single spaced instead of double spaced; I've merged the chapters to make each chapter longer, but now there are far less chapters. From 29 to 16. I am now halfway through Chapter 16, under the revised format. Each chapter is anywhere between eight pages and sixteen pages, the average being twelve pages per chapter.
However, this has changed how Adam and I need to view the reward system. I'm no longer writing Chapter Twenty-Nine; that chapter is now merged and blended and is now technically Chapter Sixteen.
So, Adam has changed my reward system appropriately.
Now, instead of every chapter finished, it's every eight pages finished. Eight is the minimum amount of pages in each chapter with MS Word single spaced Times New Roman Font 12. This is how I am writing the book on my computer, this font, this size, this spacing. I can change it all later, afterward, once I write those magic words The End. But for now this is how it's being done.
Originally, Adam would reward me with Bruster's Ice Cream after each week that I would successfully finish a chapter. If I did not meet that deadline, if I did not finish the chapter, I would forgo not only ice cream but all treats until I finished the next chapter.
Now, things have changed. Chapter placement has changed. Adam doesn't want to go by chapters anymore, because chapter placements are unreliable. I could change the placement of a chapter header at any time, at my whim. Chapters One and Two became Chapter One; Three and Four become three, and so on, until the whole thing was whittled down to half. Yet each chapter has a specific average number of pages, by whim of my writerbrain. Adam needs something more concrete: Pages. I told him that each chapter is at minimum eight pages, so a minimum of eight pages per week is my new goal.
With that said, I am seven pages into the new chapter, which is the new Chapter Sixteen. Technically, to earn my treats, I only need one more page. It is only Tuesday night. I have until Sunday afternoon. I could write five, six, eight more pages between now and then, and I'd still be rewarded.
We like this system better. The reward/punishment is the same, but the terms have altered. This time, it is more challenging.
This pleases me.
