Some in the bar were passing the then-eight-week old kitten around, making fun of his extra set of ears, mocking his appearance and calling him names such as "Devil Cat" and "Beelzebub."
It wasn't quite love at first sight, but the Rocks felt sorry for the cat and offered to adopt the kitten from the bar's owner, who kept the animal caged atop the bar for his customers' amusement.

(bold emphasis mine)

Thank fuck someone had a heart and adopted the kitten.

He's a beautiful cat! Makes me wonder how long the litter had been at the bar and how long Yoda had been an "amusing spectacle."

Rose woke me up this morning. She pounced across the bed, landed on my chest, and began enthusiastically doing mashy paws, purring and chirping right next to my ear. Then she stuck her nose right up against my mouth.
This was maybe five minutes before my alarm was set to go off. Apparently, Rose is now able to sense the impending synthesized opening chords of Apoptygma Berzerk's "Suffer In Silence." (It's a mixed CD. Adam also put the Fraggle Rock theme on it. He is... eclectic.) Eventually I'll make my own mixed CD for the alarm clock radio CD player, but for now it's appropriate.

And then Rose decided to play with the clothes I lay out on the bed, and she followed me around until I started for the door, whereupon she jumped acrobatically onto the kitty tree that stands against the full-length window next to the front door, mewed loudly at me, and demanded that I pet her goodbye.

My cats rule.

Whatever your personal opinion about the subject is, this is something to think about.
Just saying.

Hunh.
Jennifer Love Hewitt doesn't look so great now that she lost eighteen pounds -- after vehemently denying that "size 2 isn't fat" and claiming loudly that she was perfectly happy with her curves. Seriously, I think she looks worse now that she's so thin. I hope she only lost the weight for her health and not her looks. Because she sounds downright hypocritical to me. She looked great before.
/random observation

I actually feel physically good. Pain levels are low. It only feels like I've been mildly beaten instead of significantly or savagely. That's how I see things lately. That's how fibromyalgia feels, kids.

Tonight, I'm going for a nice long tricycle ride. Jason should be giving me some rent money this weekend, which means a good walk to the nearest bank to make a deposit. I'm starting to truly enjoy gentle aerobic exercise. I've been using the Pilates ring, the resistance band, and the small Pilates exercise ball more and more.

So, I know a few people on my friends list have skin issues -- acne, eczema, dryness, rosacea, blemishes, etc -- so I wanted to announce this here, because it is awesome:
http://www.abbeystclare.com/shoppe/products/earthelement.html
Best creamy masky exfoliating healing cleanser EVER.
SERIOUSLY.
Also? It's a moisturizer. I cleansed with it, and then when my face was dry I applied a thin layer, and it moisturized, and it didn't irritate my sensitive skin. It feels fantastic. Smells like fruity oatmeal and mud. Kinda looks like it too. I use this after either Walk In Beauty's Clarity Cleanser or 100 Percent Pure's Strawberry Lemonade Cleanser and I feel radiant.

Dear MAC: Okay, you got me. I'll admit it. In the past three months, I have bought six eyeshadows (Woodwinked, Silver Ring, Sumptuous Olive, Beautiful Iris, Tempting, Crystal). Now, these six colors will probably last me forever and I wouldn't want any other color, so my wallet won't suffer. But you've hooked me. It's the Veluxe Pearl formula, it's hypnotic.

Dear Aveda: If you ever stop making Nourish-Mint Smoothing Lipstick in Cherrybud and Cerise, I will bitch at you incessantly. They are the perfect colors for me. Thank you.

I can never give up Cory Cosmetics Velvet Cream Foundation Stick or Cinema Secrets Ultimate Foundation Correcting Concealer in 601-18. They're ideal.

A combination of Dr. Hauschka's Volume Mascara and Revlon's Beyond Natural Mascara gives me perfect Bambi eyes. Seriously.
