Migraine(head) Revisited
Jun. 2nd, 2009 02:37 pmI got walloped with a classic migraine around eleven-thirty this morning, so my boss let me go home. I hadn't even realized I was displaying symptoms until my twelfth trip to the bathroom, after I started sweating, shaking, seeing light flashes, and experiencing nausea and extreme sensitivity. I sort of ignored the dull throbbing pulsating headache until the entire right side of my face felt as though it was being struck repeatedly by a ball-peen hammer. My boss commented that I had lost all color in my face and told me to do the standard protocol: put up my Out Of Office email alert, change my voice mail greeting, email the office manager, and let the receptionists know. I didn't have any non-routine projects that couldn't wait until I came back.
I came home and nearly drowned myself in goji berry juice, which for some reason always makes me feel better during a migraine. Acai juice helps too, but not quite as well. I have several bottles of Bossa Nova Goji Berry Juice with Tart Cherry (tart cherry helps with inflammation), and a bottle of Gojilania Goji Plus Acai Juice.
I slept for over an hour before Adam called. He was at Charlotte and Billy's, enjoying his day off. He will come and get me so I can be around friends and maybe get a massage. And I can lay down on the Tempur-Pedic bed.
The funny thing about the migraines I get is that my migraines usually come with side orders of cerebral palsy spasticity, fibromyalgia pains, and simple partial seizures. It makes me laugh, because I'd rather laugh than cry.
