Ah, my first ice tumble of 2011.
I took a walk around my neighborhood - townhouse community, rather - you know, basic exercise and all. As I was coming back toward the row of townhouses that included my house, I landed on a particularly subtle patch of ice, and before I could blink I was in the air. I came crashing down rather spectacularly on my right side. My thigh and head smacked into the ice a bit. I lay there for a few seconds just to make sure I could move, and quickly began trying to get up. I was unsuccessful. I heard a male voice say, "Are you okay? Do you need help?" A bearded man appeared on my left and extended both hands. I grabbed them and realized I couldn't stand on my own with out slipping further, so the neighbor wound up hauling me up himself, and he held my hand while I retrieved my purse, and he kept holding my hand until I had stepped over the giant patch of ice. I thanked him profusely. He said that he had been kicking and smashing as much ice on the sidewalk as he could, and he started smashing the ice that had felled me. I told him I sincerely appreciated it, and limped home.
It's not so bad, so far. The skin all over the back and side of my right thigh has been bright red for hours, and is just starting to darken. My head is a bit sore. Adam came home from work and suggested that I leave a message for our useless HOA. I have painkillers, and arnica salve and arnica tablets and MSM pills. I will be very sore for a few days, as this came on top of a fibro flare, but in the end I will be fine.

Adam received a call from his doctor, who says that the urinalysis from Monday showed some microscopic hematuria. The doctor wants Adam to go get an abdominal CT scan, just in case. We're going to call the place first thing tomorrow morning and try to get an appointment the same day, since on Saturday, Adam will get on a plane and fly to Texas, and then possibly Las Vegas, for a week. If we can't go tomorrow, he will have to wait a week, and we'd rather get it over with. I'm sure they can squeeze us in. It's Kaiser, after all.

We're in the process of making a chocolate cake. We just need to decide on the filling.
We have chosen. We spread a Nutella on the bottom cake layer, put the second cake layer on top, then whipped up a mix of cocoa powder and coconut cream and drizzled that all over the whole cake. It is currently setting and soaking. So, chocolate cake with Nutella filling and cocoa coconut cream glaze. It will be epic.
