Adam's day off was spent well. His physician had requested that he get a CT scan, just to make sure his abdominal pain wasn't actually serious. That was done quickly and easily, and we will have the results soon.

While we were out, Adam wanted to look for new shoes, so we looked for stores that would sell men's shoes that could easily go from work to dress. We found them at a nifty little place called Shoe Retreat, which was having a massive clearance sale with a BOGO sale on top. Adam found a pair of Sketchers Work Harvard Slip-Resistant Shoes that were exactly what he needed. He bought two pairs. We figured that we would check out the women's section, and found me a pair of Rocket Dog Rancher Oiled Suede Boots. All the shoes we chose were on sale, at least sixty percent off. At checkout, we were informed that Adam's second pair of shoes would be free alongside the already deep discount for the first, and my boots would be dropped in price drastically from the already deep discount. Considering that the sticker prices for the shoes were close to ninety dollars each, we considered that a major win. We signed up for the store's rewards program happily, declared that we would return often, and left with an endorphin rush.

At home, we made a lunch consisting of cheese and salami baked into a bread roll. I took pain relievers and muscle relaxers, as the impact from yesterday's fall on the ice had been reverberating throughout my body, exacerbating the fibro flare. I stretched and massaged, We watched movies. We played with the cats. We made dinner: Cheese ravioli, asparagus baked with garlic and turmeric and ginger, and salmon baked with turmeric and garlic. Dessert was the decadent cake we had made yesterday, with the Nutella filling and the frosting made from coconut cream and cocoa.

Tomorrow, Adam will wake up early and wait for Billy to come pick him up and drive him to the airport in Dulles. Adam will then fly to Houston, TX, for his first job, and will then head on to Las Vegas, NV. I will see him again on Sunday the thirteenth. I wish him safe travels.
