When do we run out of words?
Dec. 2nd, 2012 02:51 pmSo, my fibromyalgia and cerebral palsy spasticity pains are at Lovecraftian levels once again, beyond numbers and beyond comprehension except by those who really can comprehend.
The good news is that the cocktail of Soma, Ultram, and Klonopin is helping me pretend that life is rainbows and kittens and unicorns.
That's what I want: A cane with unicorns. Or rainbows. Or kittens. Or a tee shirt with unicorns and rainbows and kittens, respectively, to represent the cures that don't exist, the treatments that work only occasionally, and the relief that comes and goes depending on mood and circumstance.

Ah, the violet butterfly, symbol of fibromyalgia and many other things.
They say that images of violet butterflies have become the symbol and talisman of fibromyalgia. Very well. Time to learn why.
The animal butterfly as a talisman in spirituality:
Transmutation, Dance of Joy. The butterfly is the symbol of change, joy and color. It is the symbol of the soul. They remind us that life is a dance, not to take things quite so seriously. They also remind us to get up and move. Dance brings the sweetness of life.
The butterfly is a colorful, delightful symbol of transition and growth. People with the butterfly totem are joyful people who appear to others as bright and cheerful. Butterfly people tend to be optimistic and are always looking for ways to grow and improve. Butterflies teach us that change is positive and should be embraced.
Personal Reflection: Butterflies are born after a period of struggle. Without the struggle the wings would not be strong enough to allow the butterfly to take wing. Often our challenges in life give us the ability to "spread our wings" and reach new heights. When butterflies appear to you, embrace change with optimism and joy for the experience.
Butterfly spends the first part of its life crawling the earth, before metamorphosis leads it to spin a home for stasis (known as a cocoon). After transforming, Butterfly is reborn as various beautiful colored winged creatures of the air.
The "dance of the butterfly" can teach you not to take things so seriously. The butterfly has taste sensors on the front legs, enabling them to experience life through motion (dancing, walking).
Butterfly brings color and lightness to your life. Color is an important part of our daily life and can affect how we respond to various situations.
If you are going through changes or transitions in your life right now, study the butterfly to make these changes beneficial, joyful, and rewarding. All change is good - even if it may not seem so at the time. Change is what life is made of and is necessary to growth, and accomplishment.
Butterfly spirit brings beauty, freedom and creativity. Butterflies constantly transform through the various stages in their very short life span. They are a very delicate creature which is first to leave if problems in their environment occurs.
The Greek word for both "soul" and "butterfly" is psyche, and it was once believed that human souls assumed the form of butterflies while they searched for a new incarnation. Throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas, butterflies have maintained their standing as a symbol of the soul and rebirth.
The color violet as a talisman in spirituality:
Violet is the crown chakra color - our connection with the energy of heaven. Violet is the color of spirituality. It has the shortest wavelength and the highest vibration of the colors of the visible spectrum of light.
Violet offers and inner sense of wholeness. With wholeness comes a sense of ending, completion of a process, and a promise of something new, illumination, rebirth.
Violet connects with sadness of letting go and also with joy of transformation. There is peace and tranquility in the newfound knowledge of profound change.
Violet color is cleansing and purifying. It is the color of magic, ritual, cleansing, purifying, connecting, mystery, and mysticism.
It is a color that allows us to glimpse other realities, beyond our physical and material reality of this earthly existence. It is pure cosmic energy.
Violet is a color of reconciliation. Of bringing together polarities - male and female, day and night, hot and cold, heaven and earth, right brain and left brain.
In this state of balance, you feel the connection with other beings, with heaven, with earth, with all of Universe. There is no separation, no duality.
As you unfold the petals of your crown chakra, you find the seat of your wisdom. You assimilate knowledge and integrate it. You know and you understand. You manifest divinity.
Violet is an energy of completion - of an end of a cycle. It is a color of letting go, to give space for something new to be born.
On an emotional level, crown chakra color violet may contain deep grief and sadness, suffering within the joy of living, accepting the journey of life here on earth.
The challenge of violet energy is when it is blocked or excessive and it manifests as psychosis, dissociation from the body, being disconnected and ungrounded.
On a spiritual level, violet may indicate a person who is able to give without the need for acknowledgement or recognition. Someone who is whole and gives from the place of her own inner completeness.
Spiritual and mystical experiences of the crown chakra are temporary for most of us. Only a few rare individuals in the history have attained and sustained the level of consciousness from the perspective of balanced crown chakra.
Among these individuals are Buddha, Jesus and Lao Tzu.
For most of us, experiences of crown chakra color violet are fleeting moments of transcendence. Glimpses of the highest level of reality.
But it is enough to sustain our trust and faith. It is enough for most of us to continue on this path of healing and transformation.
These moments come when they come and you can learn to increase the likelihood of having these experiences with meditation, prayer, chanting, and deep contemplation.
