*cough...cough...COUGH...ahhhhh*
Jan. 23rd, 2004 03:18 pmHey, I think the Primatene tablets loosened something in there. *thumps chest* Mmm. Hmm. I just let out a loud karate cough and brought up some thick clear stuff. Ray heard me and wondered if it may be symptomatic, since I have been congested for a week. My deep breaths are certainly...fresher. Easier. Still have that feeling of...how do I put this...dragging? Like with each drawn breath it feels like a pressure is being dragged up through the lungs from the diaphragm? Is that a good thing...?
I do feel much more alert, obviouslly because of what's in the tablets. That may be helping me focus. I'm not doing the inhaler thing unless it gets very bad, but I have it on me for just such an emergency. It's the best I can do. I do know that Adam has inhalers at home; I'll ask him if they'll do anything, or if they're nothing more than glorified Primatene. But y'know, this whole stuffiness and congestion issue may help explain this attack that seems to have lasted all day. Being congested and stuffed up for a whole week can certainly exacerbate a problem. The doctor will know more. There are three of them in that medical center, after all. I have an appointment two weeks from Monday, so hopefully I'll be able to handle things till then. I hear Dr. Belcher, my PCP, is a sweetheart. The good news is, with the new Optimum Choice insurance, my copay is less than it had been with CareFirst.
