Adam is working a job all week in the Silver Spring Hilton. This morning we woke up together at 5:30 and left at 6:00 to carpool, so he could be at work by 7:00. At the hotel, I found us breakfast, then went into a restroom to apply makeup etcetera. Walked the the three blocks to the Silver Spring metro, rode the train to Gallery Place, got to the office just after 8:00, spent half an hour relaxing before starting work. Got a nice workout later moving books around.

The new ring is really lovely. On Sunday, when I went to get Saturday's mail, I found a silver ring lying on the ground, with an oval shaped amber stone. It fits my right middle finger snugly. The band itself had a sort of oddly shaped wave pattern, encircling the stone. It's hard to describe. I did an online search to see if I could find a match, and found this to be the closest match. The stone in my ring is more of a fiery dark orange Baltic amber with a fragmented pattern, with what looks like bubbles inside. The band, however, is exactly the same. Since I've been wearing it, I've been feeling very peaceful with a steady flow of subtle energy. Amber is my favorite stone, and with its metaphysical properties, I can usually tune into myself more easily than with other stones, except for amethyst and diamond. Personally I feel that Baltic amber is one of the best stones for channeling bioenergy, aka subtle energy, aka chi. It's also good for circulation and healing of the skin. It's great for muscle aches and pains too. I've found that pressing a piece of amber against various body parts during times of joint and muscle pain, for a few minutes, will actually soothe the inflammation. (Disclaimer: I have no idea if this will work on you, but it can't hurt to try.)

Penelope is back in her "I don't like any of you and I want to hide forever" phase. Yesterday she had wedged herself into a corner way under our roommate's bed. That's really the last place she can hide without being immediately found. I may have to ask Jason to block kitty access under his bed. Penelope is happy to have human affection once we keep her on our bed, but she's still wary of Jupiter and Luna. The vet suggests that it's because she's still fertile. We had to change the spay appointment because of Adam's work schedule, so it's now the day after Christmas. By then, I think Penelope will have adjusted enough to be fine, and after she's fixed she should be a bit more sociable. Crossing my fingers. She really is a sweetheart, she needs to know she's safe. And she needs to know that she has feline friends who really like her.
