And this is why my usual Starbucks beverage order of choice consists of two words.
I order a vanilla doppio. The barista gives it to me in a "short" (8 ounce) cup, which leaves plenty of room for milk. I go over to the little bar area, take the lid off, shake in some vanilla powder and some chocolate powder. I then add whole milk up to the rim, mix it all up, and put the lid back on.
There. Done. I drink my double espresso with milk that I added myself, and I am very happy with it.

This is why I almost always get the same thing when I go to one of the local coffee shops--I have a favorite at each of them. At the one I go to most frequently, Espresso Royale, I usually get a medium Spanish latte--it's your standard latte, with a shot of sweetened condensed milk. Mmmmm.

Yours sounds super good, though.

Spanish latte sounds fantastic. I always order vanilla latte at local coffee shops that aren't Starbucks, but I've never heard of a Spanish latte.

My order at a coffee shop is "Hot Chocolate" since I quit coffee and tea in March. 9 months without caffeine and no withdrawal symptoms apart from the first couple of days.

I used to drink either a cappuccino or a mocha, though sometimes as frappé or frozen mocha.

And you don't even ask for anything fancy with it, I bet.
I've watched people make complicated orders for hot chocolate, which I found hilarious. Really, it's just hot chocolate.

You don't mind it being cold?

Not at all. I actually don't like hot coffee. If I order a vanilla latte, I usually order it iced even in winter. Or, I'll pour out some and fill it with milk to make it less hot. The only way I will keep it originally hot is when I'm not drinking it right away, like if I am going someplace else and can let the drink cool down.

The vanilla doppio is ideal for me, because it's hot, and then when I add the milk, it's perfectly warm.

I guess I'm a little weird like that. I don't think anyone I know does what I do. One morning, while I was at the bar adding the milk, a lady asked me, with confusion, "What on earth did you order?" and when I told her, she got this look of revelation on her face, like: wow, why didn't I think of that?

And saw this...
And I have to say, currently working at a coffee-shop these days myself, you are my hero for posting this ;-)

Aww, yer welcome! I bet you actually GET customers like that. Do you?

More per day than I can count.
For myself, the fanciest I get ordering a drink is that I now ask for soy, instead of milk, but that's a medical necessity (I can no longer drink real milk at all anymore, sadly), and pretty simple request.
I do like my Chai kinda complex (add 1 pump caramel, 1 pump Cinnamon, 2 pump Vanilla, and nutmeg) but just go behind my counter & make it for myself when I really want it, save everyone the trouble of following a fancy-ass order, and I haven't had one in months, gotten more hooked on my pretty basic iced white mochas (quad-shots are great to get me through my day).
I do now vow to own an espresso machine someday. I make a mean latte now ;-)

Your chai sounds rather awesome. I have yet to be so adventurous; I just ask for a chai latte and that's it. :)

One of my coworkers made it up for me one day, and I was hooked...
One of these days, I'll get around to buying some of our syrups from work, and make it for you :-)

BTW...

Haha...this reminds me of working at Starbucks. Sometimes I miss it, the regulars and the commotion...then I see things like this and remember those people. Well, at least I have entertaining stories.

Thanks for posting this...I have to get around to posting my "Why Starbucks is like Dune" strips...
