Burning up for no one's love
Jan. 23rd, 2008 04:12 pmI never thought I'd be glad to feel so feverish.
Fibromyalgia and menses have conspired. It's not illness. I'm not shivering. I just feel so warm, everywhere, dragon stretching to fit under my skin. I'm usually so cold. I think I understand now why Adam always talks about that fire inside, harnessing it, using it. I need to do that.
Eventually, though, it would be nice if the fire stopped being so fiery. I really am burning up.
I also want to collapse and curl up and sleep for days, but that is expected. My muscles are spastic. My hands feel incredibly swollen. My legs ache as if they've been pushed through running a marathon. My feet and hands and face are tingling madly. This is ridiculous.
Hi. This is my life lately.
Yes, when I get home I shall do everything I can to care for myself. Stretching is a top priority. Adam and I bought a bunch of surgical rubber tubing, and he used some of it to craft a rubbery version of a Pilates cord set and Pilates ring for me. The handmade cords and ring work just as well as the real thing, just bouncier. I am also using the resistance band my father had used during his shoulder surgery recovery.
I wish I could afford one of those chairs that does Shiatsu massage.

Ah, so feeling feverish is common.
*checks off everything else too; yes, all those symptoms*

Date: 2008-01-23 10:29 pm (UTC)You are the second person today that has mentioned menses to me. It must be the right moon or something.
My period was always the worst time for my flares. I think water retention contributes to the tingling hands and feet. I have had that at other times too but I think my period was always the worst part of my month.
I've been doing Total Body Pilates lately. No equipment needed. It's 20 minutes and seems just about right. It's been free on demand through our cable on exercise tv on demand. We have the homedics pad that does the shiatsu massage. Chris loves it. I am so so about it. Sometimes it just hurts me and because I am short whole back goes too high and low back not quite high enough.
I hope that you feel better soon.

Date: 2008-01-24 03:27 am (UTC)("replaced by" and "replaced with" can be interchangeable. Or you can go by this:
"John replaced his old armchair with a new recliner."
"A new recliner replaced the old armchair.")
