Adam and I spent the evening in the hospital, Montgomery General in Olney. His intense itching and insane full-body skin rash had gotten that bad. He was miserable. It turns out that he was having an allergic reaction to the Relafen, the prescription NSAID for his shoulder. The itching began on Thursday, a week after he'd started the Relafen, so it was a delayed reaction. Adam doesn't go to the hospital unless it's extremely bad. I almost had to convince him. But the fact that the only non-itchy parts on his body were the soles of his feet, his lips, and his eyelids convinced him. There were red bumps everywhere, everywhere, oh all over his body. The nurse injected him with steroids and prescribed him steroids and other meds, and we went to CVS to get his meds, and I comforted him, and he tried not to scratch anymore. And now, five hours later, we are eating dinner and calming down. He still itches. We're hoping it will stop soon, or start stopping soon. The doctor said it will take a few days, with all the meds needing to work through his system and everything. Needless to say, he's off the Relafen. But I can take it if I need to, so it won't go to waste.
I hate standing by helpless, you know?
