finding Penelope a new home

We are actively looking for a new home for Penelope. The tension and problems that she's been causing with Jupiter and Luna aren't getting any better. It's not fair to her, to our cats, or to us. I really don't want to bring her to a shelter. She really needs a home where she can be loved, lavished on, and pampered as an only cat or perhaps with one other shy cat. If anyone has ideas on where to ask, or friends who want a cat in Maryland (or even Northern Virginia), let me know.

If you don't find a place for her by the middle-end of May, my dad will be "in the market" for a new kitty. He wants to wait until after his trip to Wyoming before he gets a new companion. She'd be an only cat with him.

I will definitely keep your dad in mind. I've placed ads on petfinder and craigslist, but so far I haven't gotten any serious replies (and one that I think might be a scam of sorts). May is coming up pretty fast, so if nobody comes forward, I'll contact you. We'd be willing to wait as long as possible anyway, just to make sure she is loved.

Is he looking for a young adult specifically, or just any cat?

He lost his cat Trigger of 15 years fairly recently, and realised he does want a kitty still. The after-May requirement is, as I said, because he'll be visiting his family in Wyoming and knows it'd be unfair to any cat to put them in a new situation and then leave.

I think he'd prefer an adult/young adult cat - I'm not sure he wants to deal with the insanity that is a true kitten. :D

I told Adam about this and he says that it'll be fine, and as long as we can do house visits and such he'd be happy to give Penelope to your dad. :) Let me know what your dad says. If you click my Penelope tag, there's a post with two photos of her that you can show him.

Cool. I think in the end Penelope might go to him anyway; the only replies I have gotten so far are spam and scams.
