If you've ever shared a part of life with a a creature of another species then you know the depth of love of spirit and soul .... how they will try to cheer you when your down... or when your really really down..... they will be down with you......

"want grape" i totally cried reading that article. i have never had pet birds but i have heard great things about how affectionate they can be. i love animals so much. it is so beautiful when we can cross that barrier and communicate with them.

I have always loved reading about the gorillas and dolphin communication stuff...

I remember when they figured out how smart manatees are and found some ways to communicate with them a little.

my dog is one of the most expressive dogs i have seen. aside from the movements of her big eyes, floppy ears and curly tail, she also "points". (shes a maltese and we were surprised to learn that some of them have that trait) she points if she wants something, points in the direction of something, or she will cock her head and point if something confuses her. it makes it easier to tell what she wants.
