What does your cat smell like?
Jul. 16th, 2008 07:27 pm*sniff*
My kitten smells like yellow cake.
Seriously.
*sniff*
(Without frosting.)
She's hanging out on my lap right now. I've realized that every time I snuggled her, I smelled yellow cake.
Adam says she smells like pine.
I've read posts on cat lover forums that talk about this. Some people say their cats smell like blueberry muffins, or wildflowers, or plain bagels.
Not every cat has a particular smell, apparently. I just sniffed Luna and Jupiter and I got nothing.
Wait. *sniffs again* No, wait. Luna smells like blueberry muffins and Jupiter smells like freshly turned earth.
Huh.
Fascinating.
*sniffs again*
Rose definitely smells like cake.

Date: 2008-07-17 12:39 am (UTC)Keiko doesn't smell like anything. Well, her face smells vaguely fishy after dinner, since she likes seafood cat food most of all.

Date: 2008-07-18 01:50 am (UTC)We started feeding Keiko seafood biscuits when we first got her. She was sick, and the vet suggested the seafood stuff, as the stronger smell would stimulate her appetite - and it worked, and it's been a favourite of hers since.
We've tried to introduce more food into her diet, but she's picky and doesn't seem to get bored of the biscuits. She doesn't eat wet food, she barely touches fresh organic chicken wings, she'll eat a bit of mince here and there but that's about it. I get worried that she doesn't have enough variety in her diet, but maybe that's just by human standards...
