I got a book on Pilates with the random Barnes&Noble gift card that some law publication sent my boss. It's got very good photos showing the exact positions and how to do the exercises right. I know Pilates will never make me taller, but I can at least stretch myself enough to feel, oh, five feet even or so. Heh.
The battle for my Strattera authorization continues. But it looks like I may get it after all: The HMO was convinced I had ADHD, and when I informed them it was ADD without hyperactivity, they said they would probably send the authorization through -- provided my doctor sent them more information, like recent tests on me. So I called my doctor, and she gave me a few tests. My answers made her laugh. Fidgeting, too many thoughts at once, and severe compulsions seem to be my biggest problems.
But the conversation I had with the insurance company rep worried me, made me call the doctor in the first place. The rep said the HMO would probably want me on Adderall or Concerta for three months first. So I looked Adderall up online, the side effects, and got this sinking feeling in my stomach. Every day, for three months, huh? Yow. I mean, I can understand every week or so, but I don't know if I can stomach it every single day, literally. I will if I have to, but ... yow. This is why I've been looking into vitamins and supplements!
I'm still crossing my fingers. Meanwhile, my doctor is proud of me for looking up DMAE and Attend on my own and taking them in place of Strattera for now. I think they're helping! It's just not quite the same thing. Oh, well. We shall see what happens.
