Adam has named her Tuesday.
Yep. Tuesday.
He says it's unique, original, unusual, unlikely, and just plain interesting.
I'm still unsure, but I do know now that Tuesday is the namesake of an ancient Germanic deity named Tyr. He was considered one of the oldest, most powerful sky-father gods of any pantheon, and his name originally simply meant "god". Later, he was known as a god of war, victory, battle, justice, and courage. After the Vikings came, Odin replaced him as Norse father god, and Tyr became known as Odin's son. According to Norse legend, he lost his right hand fighting the wolf Fenrir (whom he kept as a pet!), and is destined to sacrifice himself to kill Garm, the guardian hound of Norse hell, during Ragnarok. He is a "god of bravery, honor, integrity & courage." Tyr protects those headed into battle, and seeks justice for the wronged. He is fiery, strong-willed and defensive; while at the same time he is kind, gentle, and protective. Kind of like this little kitten.
Unfortunately, the only way people today are reminded of Tyr is by having a day of the week named after him: Tuesday. But he was once considered the original king of the Germanic pantheon.
I guess that's not too bad for a spunky female kitten...
