I called my insurance company because I got a copy of the letter they sent to my doctor asking for my diagnosis of ADD paperwork (which was sent on Wednesday) and I wanted to check up. Guess what? The prescription was approved! I'm going to pick up the Strattera on Monday. I am so relieved.
Now here's the weird, annoying part: I was reading an article on how stress affected women in surprisings ways. One of the symptoms of being overly stressed is having to pee a lot. And norepinephrine is the brain chemical that triggers nerves in the bladder. Guess which brain chemical Strattera works on? Whee! That's okay, though. The Strattera will actually help my stress levels go down a lot, so I'll just do Kegel exercises to stop the pee urge.
Oh, and other symptoms of stress include: Chocolate cravings (your body wants high fat and carbs), obsessing with computer games and online stuff (you're bored, which may be masked anxiety), scratches and wounds heal much slower than usual (cytokine levels, which rush white blood cells to a wound site, are low), you suffer hideous allergy attacks (stress raises histamine levels), and...your mouth burns. They think it's because people unconsciously grind their teeth or lick their lips or just tear up their mouths.
I just found out that it's okay to try creatine supplements to help build muscle mass. That reminds me -- I need to pick up some weights.
Adam will be home soon. Yay again!
