brightrosefoxA weird day, hot and muggy and cloudy and threatening storms, but also sort of sunny, at least in downtown DC. Very odd.
I saw the podiatrist. It's nothing bad. No abcess, no infection. Standard soft corn in between the fourth and fifth toes. The doctor gave me foam and felt padding and cleaned up the skin and advised me to keep pressure off. I am still relieved for having seen a specialist, though, and he said I was right in coming to him. It could have been something worse.
It was abominally humid even late in the afternoon. It looked like fog. The trains I needed to get home were so packed due to delays that I waited forty-five minutes. I browsed the local CVS to pass the time.
Olfactory psychic sensitivity has been strong lately. I think my crown chakra may be starting to overload again. I start to smell fruity or floral or resinous scents in my dreams when this happens.
There has been this strange, beautiful, powerful scent lingering in my creative mind and my dreams: A haunting combination of Rose, Jasmine, Gardenia, Vanilla, Amber, Sandalwood. It's been there for a few days. Most of those scents are used in magic. I am surprised there is no Frankincense. Then again, Frankincense is already prominent in my Electric Seven chakra balancing massage oil, along with Sandalwood, Jasmine, Rose and Benzoin. I think my mind tossed in Gardenia and Amber for my husband. He loves gardenia and amber.
I have several bottles of Electric Seven. The company (ReignDance.com) must love me. Does anyone want a bottle? It's fantastic. It takes away pain.
But it is that specific blend that has been pulling me. I finally called up The Crystal Fox store (they're in Laurel), who makes Foxcraft essential oils, and ordered a custom blend (because they have the only Vanilla oil that Adam and I both love obsessively. If I use the Foxcraft Vanilla as a perfume, he loves it. He nuzzles my neck a lot). They are very good about customizing.
I also have an MSM lotion (Soothing Skin from HarmonyScents.com) with Frankincense, Patchouli, and Lavender, so I think I should be set for aromatherapy, meditation, and pain relief. (Patchouli, like Frankincense, is excellent topically for regenerating skin cells and healing skin problems, and of course good for meditation, but you have to appreciate the smell which is why I like it mixed with vanilla and sandalwood and amber and frankincense).
And I found a spectacular lotus oil blend that really is almost divine. It us excellent for meditating. I need to get back to the types of meditations I have been doing. My creativity flows easier then.
And I discovered why I have been stuck at a certain scene in the novel's progress, why I have had so much difficulty writing any further: That scene is not supposed to be where it is. It happens later. Silly author. The story knows better.
Adam and I shared another Dark And Stormy drink while watching Discovery Channel documentaries.
He planted dragonfruit seeds outside. They're starting to grow. He had bought dragonfruit earlier. We've been nibbling at it. I like the taste of dragonfruit. It tastes very much like Lychee. The flowers, when they bloom, will be gorgeous. The cactus likes rain, so perhaps it will grow faster. I've never had any kind of cactus before. It will probably get very big. They can grow up to nine and a half feet. That will be very interesting to see in the front yard. I am researching how to care for the plant. It will need a vine. And shade. And lots of water. I hope we can treat it well.
