So I just drank a bottle of something called O2Go Oxygenated Water. I guess it's like Penta Water. You know what's funny? All these websites calling it a waste of money, a crock of shit, total hype. You know what's funnier? I actually feel, ahem, "oxygenated". I really don't know or care who says what at this point. However, I do agree that all the hype is ridiculous. Perhaps oxygenated water is total bullshit and does absolutely nothing, and the rush of energy and ability to breathe really deeply that I now have is from something else. However, all the yelling about what a load of bullshit it is just makes it that much more appealing. I don't know why. How come Las Vegas has oxygen water at their oxygen bars? They pump oxygen into the hotels (boy do they! *bounce*) so yeah, we're breathing it in. And no, it probably doesn't absorb through the intenstines, so drinking it doesn't do anything. Sooo, how come I'm feeling something? Must be in my head. All the hype got to my brain.
Seriously, I'm not being sarcastic. Does this stuff work or doesn't it? And yes, I really do want to know what's causing the energy rush.

i would guess no. how does one "oxygenate" water anyway? is it fizzy? and it's prolly psychosomatic, although INHALING pure O2 can give you bouncy feelings.

Yeah, I thought so. It's not fizzy, no. Which makes me wonder. Just "Distilled Water And Oxygen". Okay. It should be fizzy, right?

Remember the bounciness at Vegas? THAT I can understand. Inhalation all the way. But drinking... ingestion should not do the same thing. *thinks* It's gotta be something else.

Maybe the Schizandra's kicking in. That's a Chinese rejuvenating herb. Supposed to be an adaptogen. *browses Google* Oh, wait, here we go:

"Enhances aerobic capacity and energy levels"
There we go, then.

My kingdom for a PH.D. or something, neh?

You can dissolve any gas into water by combining the two under pressure. That's how they carbonate water.

I'm not sure how much oxygen your body would be able to extract from the water during digestion. It might work because the small intestine contains capillaries simalar to the lungs so some of it might cross into the blood that way. Just a guess.

but there is ALREADY oxygen in water. that was my point. and if it isn't fizzy, then where is the gas? if we could absorb meaningful levels of oxygen from drinking water we should not have to worry about drowning.

Hey, that's a good point. Breathing water, literally.
I didn't know about the lung-similar capillaries in the intestine, though. How WOULD that work?

True. If it isn't fizzy then there can't be much more O2 in it the the standard amount already in water.

'cause H2O2 is peroxide. and fizzy as hell. and also, a free radical and hence, toxic to cells.

Maybe there doesn't have to be. I was just saying that I was oxygen deprived right after my birth, and the maybe the cerebral palsy plays a role in my fatigue issues now, which are mainly from an apparent inability to get enough oxygen anyway.
So maybe I have a different reaction to supplemented oxygen? Maybe even the tiniest oxygen boost is enough to send my energy and stamina sky high. I climbed five flights of stairs in a row and wasn't even winded. That never happens, not unless I have a lot of oxygen in me. Like if I take a supplement with Arginine Alpha Keto-Glutarate.

maybe...but probably not.

Hmmm...oxygen dissolves in water. And fish die if their water isn't aerated. So I think it's not beyond the realm of possibility that water with extra oxygen is energizing!

I just thought of something: I was deprived of oxygen as a baby (leading to cerebral palsy). And any time I don't get enough oxygen in general, I react badly. I have a feeling that even a tiny oxygen boost would have a major effect on me. When I was at the hotels on the Vegas strip, I had never been more energized. My stamina was through the roof. I didn't feel as much pain and exhaustion and fatigue as I usually do. And whenever I intake a lot of oxygen, I get the same way. Perhaps you're right about those capillaries.

I've heard of that. I mean, I seriously doubt drinking a bottle or two of Penta or O2Go Water a day will make you overdose, but yes, it's something to keep in mind. Especially for the celebrities who order twenty-seven crates of bottled oxygenated water when they go on tour and drink four bottles a day. Yes, I watched some celebrity news thing about "how famous people stay pretty" and they were saying how stuff like Penta water is like gold to celebrities. I mean, there is such a thing as water poisoning, too!

When you breathe in oxygen it will give you an energy rush, but I don't think the oxygenated water works though, you are more likely to get a burp from it. However, if you get something from it than its something :)

Though lungusa has this to say:
"Oxygen is also being dispensed for recreational purposes at oxygen bars to patrons who believe that inhaling the pure oxygen will cause their bodies to function even better than normal. Inhaling oxygen recreationally is unlikely to have a beneficial physiological effect."
