Everything was wonderful over the weekend; the boys playing NASCAR on the PS2, Charlotte and I shopping at the new mall down the road. And then... the ragweed.
Adam and I stayed in the guest room on Friday and Saturday nights. Each time I woke up, I couldn't breathe. All Saturday and Sunday, I sneezed. My eyes watered to the point of flooding. I couldn't be far from a tissue. The inside of my nose itched. My head was cotton-stuffed.
Mind you, I have not yet taken a Benadryl or Sudafed or Claritin. I kept forgetting to.
Even as I write this, my eyes are tearing up. I shall get something from CVS at lunchtime. I won't be able to do my work well if all I can do is sneeze. Poor nose. *rubs nose*
I did find that lip gloss with the capsicum and mint oils. Much better.
When will this stop? When??

Even though I feel miserable, it makes me deliriously joyful to know that my loved ones are so happy. So there you go.

This is for all the writers here with MS Word:

You know how in an MS Word document, the quotation and apostrophe marks are designed one way -- curving -- while online, like in LJ, Yahoo email, and Gmail, they're straight; and when attempting to cut and paste or convert from one to the other, the translation is lost?
Case in point: A few nights ago, at Charlotte's, I had an urge to write a scene in the novel. So, on their computer, I decided to write the text into my Gmail, save the draft, and then cut and paste into the Word document when I got home. However, the quotation and punctuation marks remained the same as they had looked online, and I had to waste time going through the whole thing correcting them.
Is there any way to "preserve" these punctuation marks while I'm transferring text from online to Word? Because I don't want to have to "correct" them if I don't have to.

Tuesday is in full heat, and for some odd reason, she has taken an extreme liking to lying down on glass tabletops. The nightstand next to my side of the bed, the kitchen table, even a mirror that's on the floor. She will murmur and trill and cry and scoot her back legs frantically on glass more than any others surface. Her cries no longer sound cute and sweet to me. They are the cries of an animal in pain. If you've ever seen a housecat in heat, you'll know. It's torture. Their genitals swell and throb just like ours, but there is no relief for days -- almost a week. Even if there were male cats to mate with, the pain continues.
I notice that she gets relief if I hold her down with one hand against her upper back, and pat her with the other just above the base of her tail. So that is all right.
Charlotte and her mom are working on getting the paperwork for the coupons and discounts from the Humane Society. We are going to say that Tuesday is Charlotte's cat -- either that she is Shadow's third kitten (who actually died, who looked exactly like Tuesday) or that Charlotte and Billy adopted Tuesday because she reminded them of them kitten who died. That way we can get the price knocked down at least a hundred bucks at the place that took care of Shadow, Buster and Baby.
(Beth: I found out that it should cost one-fifty total for the actual spaying, by the way. You were right. For the rest of it, I will get the money together myself. I want to wait until she is out of heat, of course, and once Charlotte gets that paperwork. I'll let you know once everything is ready)

I need a new pentacle.
So, those who know me... which stone should I choose? Garnet? Amethyst? Rainbow Moonstone? The Garnet has a strong pull, being a writer's stone, but maybe too strong. Moonstone loves me, being a healer's stone, but perhaps it is too gentle. Amethyst soothes me, being a spiritual stone, but I might need more energy.
I am leaning toward Garnet. (See, Scott? Similar minds)
But I would like opinions.
Amethyst
Garnet
Moonstone and Rainbow Moonstone

And I also had the best IM conversation I had in a long time. I made a very good new friend. Blessed be, Ravenwing.
